The concept of investigation is linked to the science itself and represents the systematic, organized and objective processes, whose goal is to answer a question or hypothesis in order to increase knowledge and information on a subject that was hitherto unknown. In the same way, investigation is a systematic activity that works towards obtaining, by observation, experimentation, new information and knowledge necessary in order to widen the various fields of science, like speech therapy.

The investigation in speech therapy can be defined as the action of putting into effect intellectual activities and systematic experiments in order to increase the knowledge of speech therapy and having the ultimate goal to widen the scientific knowledge of speech therapy and finally improve the praxis of speech therapy.

 

The WASLP will promote the process of investigation in speech therapy as the fundamental source of generating knowledge and improvements in our professional practice.
